The Two Secrets To Experiencing The Life You've Always Wanted

How's life going for you? Does it feel like a constant struggle? Are you living from emergency to emergency? Does money issues have you worried again? Or, maybe you're health, or the health of a love one, is stressing you out?

Do you feel like this Christian walk should be so much more than what you're experiencing on a daily basis?

Well, you're right! There is so much more than what most of us are currently experiencing.

Today, I'm going to share with you two secrets that will change that.

Did you know God not only loves you, but he has amazing things that He wants you to have and experience? In fact, He has promised them in His Word.

Most of us have heard that God has certain promises for believers. But, are we truly experiencing them in our everyday lives?

Maybe you're like me who struggled with feeling like you’re not good enough to receive those promises? I haven’t done enough yet. I’m not consistent in my Bible reading. I don’t pray enough. I got mad at my kids for being too loud, again. And on and on goes our list of why we haven't earned it yet.

I’m going to share something with you that’s life changing–YOU’RE NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

Whoo, glad we got that over with. It’s true though, none of us are “good” enough to receive all the wonderful things our Heavenly Father has in store for us. But, I’ve got fantastic news…shall I say, “Good News”?

The Good News is–we don’t have to be good enough.

It’s not about what we’ve done; It’s about what Jesus accomplished on the cross for us.

It’s called the finished work of Christ. It’s what He came and died and rose again for.

We owed a debt we couldn’t pay, but Jesus paid the debt He didn’t owe.” (Destin to Reign by Joseph Prince)

Romans 5:17 NKJV

For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

Everything we need to live an amazing life and experience the promises of God was accomplished on the cross on our behalf. That’s why we call it Jesus’ finished work.

Ephesians 2:4-7 NKJV

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

Does that sound unfair? That's what grace is–UNDESERVED, UNEARNED and UNMERITED favor.

Grace is only grace when it’s one sided. - Joseph Prince

So, even though we’re not enough on our own, with Jesus, we’re more than enough.

Now we can stop depending on our own self-efforts to qualify for God’s blessings because we know with Jesus, we’re enough.

What’s those secrets to experiencing the life you always wanted?

Or, another way we could say that is how can we receive the promises God has in store for us so we can experience the life we always wanted?

Secret #1 BELIEVE

The first secret to experiencing these life changing promises Jesus paid so dearly for is BELIEVE they are ours.

We have to believe they’re ours, and we have to believe that it’s even possible to have them before we can experience them in our lives.

Matthew 13:58 NKJV

Now He (Jesus) did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

Believing is trusting. Trust that God meant what He said and He can do what He said He would do.

Secret #2 RECEIVE

The second secret to experiencing God’s promises is RECEIVE them from God.

Mark 11:24 NKJV

Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

God’s promises are a gift. How do you receive a gift?

Do you grovel and tell the gift-giver that you don’t deserve it, or worse, you don't believe they have a present even though they say they do? Or, do you take it and graciously say thank you?

That’s it! Those are the two secrets. BELIEVE the promises, or gifts are for you. Then, graciously RECEIVE the gifts our Heavenly Father has given us through Jesus, and say, “thank you.”

Remember, we need to stop doing what’s already done and start receiving what Jesus has done.

Wait, you may be wondering, “how can I believe these gifts and promises are mine and receive them, if I don’t know what they are?

Fantastic question! Hang with me, they’re so many great and precious promises that we’ll be exploring those in the next few posts together.
