How God Wants You To Approach Him Even Knowing What You've Done Wrong

Have you ever met a dog that’s been abused. You go up to pet it and it cowers or rolls over on it’s belly hoping you won’t beat it? You may have wanted to yell, “I’m not going to hurt you. I just want to love on you!”
We know that dog doesn’t understand our intentions. If he did, he’d act differently. He’d coming running up, without fear, and enjoy a good belly scratch.
How many of us unknowingly do this with God?
We feel like a dog that did something wrong groveling up to their master for forgiveness? Rolling over on our bellies to show our repentance hoping He’ll scratch it to show He still loves us?
Our Father doesn’t want us to feel that way. He wants us to come to Him in complete confidence no matter what we’ve done or what we need.
Hebrews 4:16 AMP
Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment].
Let’s approach the throne of grace WITH PRIVILEGE! Wow!!
We may know in our head He’s merciful, but do we come to Him as if we’re privileged? Boldly, with confidence, without fear come before Him. Know that He’s already forgiven us. Know that His mercy is new every morning. Know that His grace is there to help at just the right moment with just the right blessing!
How can we have this confidence? How can we approach our Heavenly Father with privilege? We know what we’ve done wrong right?
We don’t approach our Father with privilege because of what we’ve done. We can approach our Father with privilege because of what Jesus did!
We haven’t earned it. Jesus paid for it with Himself!
Ephesians 2:8-9 ESV
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Continually remember, we can go to our Heavenly Father with confidence, boldness and privilege, because it’s a gift He gave us through Jesus.
