YouTube Thumb Nails - Who Am I parts 1-4.002.jpeg

In the last post, we laid a foundation of the importance of understanding our identity–our true value. We discovered that identity issues went back to Eve.

When God created Eve, He made her in His image. He also said He created her to be a life savior. Check out part one if you missed it. (Link to part 1)

We need to embrace our true identity if we're going to be able to fulfill our purpose.

Identity is about knowing who we are.

So, who are we?

I Am A Princess

I want you to say that with me: I Am A Princess

How can that be? You might be thinking. I'm not royalty.

Let's go back to Eve. She didn't recognize that God already made her in His image. Because of this, she missed out on her purpose.

Genesis 3:4-6 NKJV

4 Then the serpent said to the woman, "You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." 6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.

Eve forgot who she was. She forgot God made her in His image.

But that's not all Eve forgot. She also forgot "Whose" she was.

Eve was God's creation. His masterpiece–designed as a child of God.

Rather than remembering to go to her Creator when she doubted, she chose to listen to a serpent.

Maybe she thought God didn't have her best interest at heart, or she thought she was missing out. Whatever the reason, by forgetting Whose she was, she missed out on her true purpose of being a lifesaver.

So "Whose" are we?

When you were a little girl, did you ever dream of one day being a princess? (Or, if you're a guy reading this, fill in what you wanted to be. 😉)

A royal entourage would show up on your doorstep out of nowhere and announce, "We've found her! Our missing princess!" They would dress you in your royal gown, place a sparkly tiara on your head and then escort you to your kingdom where the King would lavishly bestow on you every privilege that comes with being a princess! Why, because you're his daughter! You're the King's little princess!

I wished this long before the movie Princess Diaries came out.

Well, ladies, that's precisely who we are!! You are a Princess.

You belong to your Heavenly Father–Abba–the King of kings!

Galatians 4:6 NKJV

And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, "Abba, Father!"

That word sons, by the way, means someone sharing the same nature as their Father. It's not just talking about boys here.

1 John 3:1a NKJV

Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!

John 1:12 NKJV

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.

Romans 8:15-16 NKJV

For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba (Daddy), Father." The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God…

Revelation 5:10 NKJV

And have made us kings and priests to our God; and we shall reign on the earth.

You belong to the King of kings. You are His child. You are royalty!

That–my friend–makes you a princess!

Because of WHOSE we are–we know WHO we are–I AM A PRINCESS.

Do you know what else you are? We're going to discover that in the following video.

Discussion

What did you dream about becoming when you were a kid?

I totally did the princess dream thing. I also dreamed of going to the Olympics in Three Day Eventing (If you’re not familiar with that, it's a horse thing).
