Podcast Episode 107 - Every day can be a fresh start
/Have you ever had a bad day?
Do you feel heavy or sad?
Ever had a day that didn't go as planned?
In today’s episode, we’re talking about how to turn your day around and give yourself the gift of a fresh start.
Today for you:
If you've had a bad day but don't want it to have you.
If your day didn't go as planned and you don't want to repeat it.
If you're struggling with heaviness, sadness or just plain down and need help feeling better.
Yesterday I had a hard conversation, and my heart was so heavy.
I woke up to our first snow. It was beautiful!
I enjoyed a beautiful conversation with my daughter Aubrey as we stared out the window as the newly fallen snow blanketed the naked trees and cold ground.
I realized three lessons today that helped me get a fresh start today and they will help you too!
1. Don't let your feelings hold you hostage.
Feelings aren't THE truth.
They are real. They are feelings, but we don't have to let them keep us down.
We Think > We Feel > We Choose
We get to choose to change our feelings by choosing our thoughts.
As I shared that beautiful conversation with my daughter, the heaviness began to melt away.
2. Enjoy the moment.
This morning as I took our 112.5-pound Goldendoodle out for his morning walk, he frock-licked, eating the snow along the way. He loves the snow… the best doggie day ever!
I smiled and enjoyed the moment as my giant puppy enjoyed the moment. Again, the heaviness kept melting away.
I know crap happens, and every moment isn't awesome. We can choose to enjoy the hidden moments around us, though. Look for them.
3. Tap into the power God gave you.
God has given us more power than we realize or have tapped into. If we did, our lives would look drastically different.
That's not condemnation; we're just a work in progress.
Father's given us authority over our lives and health. He has wisdom ready and waiting for those who ask.
He's given us His grace which is a divine favor.
Let's tap into that to change our lives and give ourselves a fresh start.
