Podcast Episode 115 - How to put the Holly Jolly back in the holidays
/Do the holidays stress you out?
Do you run from one event to another?
When someone asks you, “How are you doing?” Do you answer, “Crazy busy!”
I’m talking about how you can put the Holly Jolly back in the holidays.
Today is for you if you want to enjoy Christmas again.
If you want to learn how to slow down, I’m talking to you.
If your holidays are so jam-packed you’re continually exhausted, I’m definitely talking to you today.
Over the years, the holidays have gotten so busy we have lost sight of the meaning of Christmas. We’re also so busy we can’t enjoy and savor the moment.
But we can put the holly jolly back into Christmas by following these steps.
1. Set your priorities
What really matters to you and your family?
What budget do you want to stick with?
What do you want to remember?
When you set your priorities, you have a baseline or framework to make the right decisions when all those invites and events you have to do come your way.
2. Say no to the good stuff
You can do many good things, but you can’t do everything.
Say no to the good stuff so you can do the next step…
3. Say yes to the right stuff
Say yes to the stuff that matters to you.
You can do that now that you’ve said no to the good stuff and given yourself margin in your month.
4. Savor the moments
Now that you’ve set your priorities so you can say no to the good stuff and yes to the right stuff, you’ll have time and energy to savor the moment and enjoy your holidays again.
This holiday season can be the most joyous or the most draining...you get to choose that.
