Podcast Episode 092 - Is there an invisible block holding you back from your dreams?
/Does it ever seem like something happens to bring you back down when you have a big success?
Maybe you fought with your spouse, got sick out of nowhere or just felt down?
Have you ever felt like reaching for your dreams feels like walking through molasses?
Like you're going nowhere fast.
Do you ever struggle to share your great news when you get a win?
You don't want people to think you're bragging or looking down on them.
In the last episode, I talked about your Zone of Genius. That zone we need to work out is where we get the highest ratio of abundance and satisfaction. It's our win-win zone. But, when we step into that zone, something happens…invisible blocks try to hold us back.
This episode is for you…
If you have ever struggled to reach your potential.
If you feel like something invisible is holding you back.
If you want to really do what God's put in your heart to do instead of just talking about it.
When trying to reach our full potential, there's a block–an upper limiting belief.
What's an upper limiting belief?
An upper limiting belief is a belief that limits what level of success and enjoyment you can reach.
It limits the amount of success and joy we can experience.
Let's explore the four common fears that cause these upper-limiting beliefs.
1. Fear you're fundamentally flawed
You can't expand to your potential because something is wrong with you or you're fundamentally bad.
How can you expand to your full creative potential if you believe you're flawed?
This is one of my upper limiting beliefs. I shared about in episode 24–How in-Christness are you– so if you struggle with this belief, listen to that episode.
2. Fear success will cause you to be disloyal or leave people behind
You feel like you're breaking a family rule or it's taboo to be successful.
Did you ever hear?
We don't do that…
We're not like those people…
We'll never have…
Really you're breaking new ground for a family legacy.
3. Fear that greater success brings bigger burdens
You think success brings more stress, more burden on the family or less time for relationships.
If I'm pursuing my dream, my family must pick up the slack for me, and they may resent me.
4. Fear of outshining others
Hold yourself back because you secretly or unconsciously fear outshining someone else.
I also struggle with this one.
There’s enough awesome to go around!
When you shine in your Zone of Genius, you’re lighting a path for others to follow!
How do we overcome these upper-limiting beliefs?
The first way to deal with this kind of fear is to shine a light on it.
Expose it for what it is–the lie trying to stop you from living your best life God's called you to.
Ask Why? Like, where did that come from?
Did someone impose that rule or thought on me growing up? Or did I impose it on myself?
You are created for greatness…shine a light on your fear and remove the upper limiting belief so you can break through to greater success and joy.
You got this!
Thanks a bunch for listening!
