Podcast Episode 112 - Thankfulness - three ways to put a pep in your step
/Do the holidays ever get you down?
Does negativity leave you feeling down in the dumps?
Do you ever get jealous of what others have or experience?
We’re continuing our conversation on thankfulness and how it affects every area of our lives.
Today is for you:
If you want more joy.
If you desire to learn contentment.
If you want to be a catalyst for change.
Thankfulness does so much for us and affects not only us but others.
1. Thankfulness creates contentment
Philippians 4:11
Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.
Contentment means being self-sufficient and satisfied by living in God’s content (fullness).
Paul shares he is content regardless of his circumstances, good, bad or indifferent.
We can too.
Verse 13 says I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
I love that Christ has made it possible for us to live content in the fullness of the life God gave us.
It brings us contentment when we’re thankful for what we do have instead of what we don’t have.
2. Thankfulness is contagious
Just as negativity can permeate a room, thankfulness is contagious. You can be a fatality for change by being a grateful person.
3. Thankfulness brings joy
Again, you enjoy your life more when you’re thankful for what you do have instead of focusing on what you don’t have.
