The Dreamer’s Journey: The Finish Line Is Just the Start

When I first became a life coach, I had no idea that fear would become the very thing I’d be known for.

If you had told me that this would be my message, that one day I’d call myself “The Courageous Coach,” I probably would’ve laughed nervously, then fainted. (And no, that’s not a figure of speech. I literally fainted. A lot.)

Back then, courage was something I thought I had to find, but Father was teaching me to become it.

The Training Ground You Didn’t Expect

I didn’t step into my dream with confidence. I stumbled into it with shaky knees and a handful of “what ifs.”

I’d finally said yes to becoming a life coach and thought, Alright, God, I’m doing the thing!

Not long after, I found myself fainting before stepping out of my comfort zone, then questioning my calling, and wondering if I’d made a huge mistake.

That season wasn’t my “Courageous Coach” moment. It was my training ground.

What God works in you, He eventually wants to flow through you.

He was preparing me to help other women overcome fear by letting me face my own first.

1. Celebrate What God Has Done — Gratitude Grounds You for What’s Next

Maybe you’ve been there too. You finally reached the place you prayed for—the job, the business, the book, the breakthrough—and it doesn’t feel the way you thought it would.

You’re grateful but restless.

You love what God’s done, yet something feels unfinished.

That doesn’t mean you missed it. It means He’s not done yet.

Before God takes you deeper into what’s next, He often invites you to pause and look back at how far He’s brought you.

In Genesis 41:52, Joseph does exactly that:

“He named the second Ephraim, for he said, ‘God has made me fruitful in the land of my affliction.’” (NASB)

Joseph didn’t wait for perfection to celebrate. He named fruitfulness right in the middle of what once hurt him.

Gratitude isn’t just a response to success; it’s the foundation for growth. It doesn’t ignore the pain. It thanks God for how far He’s brought you and for the seasons He’s carried you through — the same God who carried you then is leading you now.

If you’ve lived in the gap (where you measure against an ideal you haven’t reached), shift to the gain by measuring how far He’s already brought you.

2. The Dream Within the Dream — Every Layer Takes You Deeper into God’s Purpose

Dreams don’t end at arrival; they keep unfolding layer by layer.

When Joseph finally reached the palace, he could have stopped there.

But in Genesis 45:7, he reveals a deeper purpose behind his dream:

“God sent me before you to preserve for you a remnant in the earth, and to keep you alive by a great deliverance.” (NASB)

The dream wasn’t just about Joseph’s leadership. It was about legacy.
Each layer revealed something new God was building in him and doing through him.

Your dream works the same way. What starts as a goal becomes a gateway. Each new layer calls you deeper into obedience, influence, and maturity.

Psychologists call this cognitive flexibility, the ability to stay open as things shift and evolve. Faith calls it trust.

So when the dream changes, don’t panic. It’s not dying; it’s just deepening.

Stay open. Stay curious. Let God reveal the dream within the dream.

3. Multiply the Mission — What God Did in You Now Flows Through You

Joseph didn’t just live his dream. He multiplied it.

Genesis 47:12 tells us,

“Joseph provided his father and his brothers and all his father’s household with food, according to their little ones.” (NASB)

The dream that started with Joseph storing grain ended with him saving generations.

That’s what happens when what God does in you starts flowing through you.

Your story, your breakthrough, your faith—it’s not meant to stop with you.
It’s meant to ripple outward.

Maybe that looks like mentoring another woman, starting a small group, or sharing your story online.
Maybe it’s as simple as being transparent about the hard parts so someone else can see what’s possible with God.

Legacy begins when you let your lessons become someone else’s light.

Courageous Action

This week, I want you to live this message, not just read it.

1️⃣ Look Back — Celebrate the Gain

Write down three ways God has been faithful in your dreamer’s journey.
Celebrate every answered prayer, every win, every moment of growth.
Gratitude grounds you for what’s next.

2️⃣ Look Deeper — Ask for the Next Layer

Ask Father, “What’s the next layer You’re inviting me into?”
Be still and listen. Write what you sense. Don’t filter it. Receive it.

3️⃣ Look Around — Multiply the Mission

Who can you encourage this week with what you’ve learned?
Send a text, share your story, or pray with someone who’s where you used to be.
Your obedience could be the key that unlocks their next step.

You didn’t miss it, friend. You’re stepping into the part of the dream that’s still unfolding.

Keep showing up. Keep trusting.
And let what God’s done in you keep flowing through you.

Because the finish line?

It’s just the start…to something greater!
