Read

Do you somedays feel like giving up or aren’t sure if you’ve got enough strength on your own to make it?

Have you ever shared an issue with someone, and they gave you a solution that never occurred to you?

Do you feel stuck in the same ole’ life with no new opportunities on your horizon?

It’s time for #7 of our 10 Sure Fire Ways to Stay Stuck, and it’s the one that got me unstuck and keeps me going when I don’t think I have the strength to do it.

Today is for you if…

  • If you’re tired of going it alone.

  • If you desire new opportunities, new experiences and new perspectives.

  • If you’re ready to go from stuck to supported so you can grow into your best self, living your best life.

So far, we’ve learned six sure-fire ways to stay stuck…#1 Stop learning and #2 Stay in your comfort zone; #3 Failure isn’t an option; #4 Hang out with negative people going nowhere, #5 Never look at your goals, and #6 Take care of everyone else first.

This next surefire way to stay stuck is a big one, my friend, and I sometimes find myself slipping back into myself because I don’t want to be a bother. But it always leads me to get stuck.

#7 Sure-Fire Way to Stay Stuck – Go Solo

Some days it may feel easier to go it solo. Some of us struggle because we don’t want to be a bother. You may have been hurt somewhere along the way and are tired of pulling the knives out of your back. I’ve felt both of those.

When you’re alone, you have only yourself to support you and only your perspective to view life. There’s no one to bounce ideas off or laugh at your jokes.

Solo is a lonely way to live, and going solo is a surefire way to stay stuck.

Even Han Solo wasn’t alone…he always had Chewbacca.

Sure-Fire Way to Succeed – Don’t Go It Alone

Connections, Mentors, Friends & Accountability Partners oh my… Building a strong network of connections can help you grow personally and professionally.

Not going it alone can serve as a catalyst for personal growth.

It provides the necessary support, guidance, and encouragement to grow and develop.

Here are five ways where “not going it alone” can help you grow:

1. Learning Opportunities

You can learn new things and acquire knowledge from others when surrounded by others.

I was in a virtual conference a while back to learn to copywrite. I was in a breakout group when I said I help people overcome fear. One of them mentioned how going about something from the positive side can be more powerful.

That’s when I came up with the Courageous Coach. Then it hit me…I live on Courageous Lane. God put me on that street years before I became the Courageous Coach. I wouldn’t have come to that conclusion if someone hadn’t shown me the way.

Listening to others’ perspectives and experiences can help you understand things from a different point of view, which broadens your perspective.

2. Inner Strength

Knowing others are supporting you helps strengthen your inner resolve and instills confidence to take on new challenges you might not have done without this support.

It helps build your resilience and cultivates courage to face and overcome obstacles knowing you’re not alone.

3. Expands Your Horizons

Support from different backgrounds, experiences and expertise broadens your horizons.

It was my parents that opened my eyes to a world of food. If you ask me about my favorite foods, they’re all from another country.

I went on several mission trips when I was a teenager. When I went to the Soviet Union (back when it was the Soviet Union), I got to enjoy all the smoked salmon I could eat because hardly any teenagers wanted to eat something different from their usual meat and potatoes cuisine. Also, we ate cow tongue. It tasted like Braunschweiger or liverwurst. I loved it all!

I got to experience a country like it was meant to instead of sticking in my McDee’s Americanized kids viewpoint.

When you don’t go it alone, you can discover new opportunities, ventures or adventures that can lead to new inspirations.

4. Mutual Support

Your support network and being a part of a community or family build a sense of belonging; you also get to be there for others too. Win-win.

5. Accountability

Support provides accountability for your actions. They hold you responsible and don’t let you get away with being less than you truly are.

Your support system keeps you motivated to continue pushing forward; no room for giving up. They help you become your best self.

A strong support system of family and friends can be a powerful tool for personal growth. It encourages learning, broadens perspectives, and strengthens inner resilience while providing invaluable growth opportunities.

All of this leads to a healthier emotional and mental state, greater satisfaction and better stress management.

Please don’t risk it by going it alone! And it’s way more fun!
